Some of my son's work

I thought I would post some of my son's woodworking.  He loves to make small bats and actually has an order for 20 of them.

It always amazes me how someone take take a log like this:

And turn it into something like this:

They are so smooth and to this mom gorgeous!

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you have not only a great day but a great week!

Two new cards

Awe Friday evening and I have two new cards to share - Hey I am surprising even myself.  I think I'm beginning to get the hang of things.

These are for two special people, and I hope they don't see this until they get their cards!  Here they are:

I used Sizzix embossing folders on both cards.  Both sentiments are from K Andrew Designs.

All of the papers, ribbons, and bling came from my stash.  The blue ink is from Hobby Lobby and the purple ink is from Versa Magic.

Thank you for looking and I hope this evening is a great start to your weekend!

Good Friday morning!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far and looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

I thought I would post some of the tiles I have made.  Some I have designed myself and others are from free svg. files.

I have more to post but will have to get to those later.

I used black vinyl purchased from Expressions Vinyl and the tiles I bought from Lowes.

Expressions Vinyl has a lot of variety and their pricing is good.  And of course you can find all sorts of tiles at Lowes.

Thank you for looking and have a great day!

Birthday Cards

I made two birtdhay cards for my little sister whose birthday is next week.  Even though she will be 53 I still consider her to be my little sister and always will.

For some reason I always think that I have more time than I actually do so to the rescue are the Sizzix embossing folder and the trusty Bow Easy.  The cards came together in no time.  I took the pictures with my phone because I wanted to share them with you quickly and my software with my camera can be pretty fussy at times, so I guess I am saying that I am sorry for the poor quality.

I may just send both cards because I can't decide which to send.

Here is the first one I made:

The paper and ribbon are from my stash and the Bow Easy came to my rescue for the bow.  I cannot make a bow without this handy little tool.  The pearls are from my stash too.

Here is the second card.  I think it is more elegant and I used black not because I think she is old (I'll always be older than she is!) but just because I thought it looked pretty:

Again the paper, ribbon, and flower are from my stash along with the "crystal ribbon."

Thank you for looking and I hope you have a fabulous evening!

"Miss Shoe"

Hope everyone has had a great Sunday!

Here is a card a made to tell someone that I missed them:

The paper is from Paper Studio Oop's-A-Daisy, the ribbon is from my very disorganized stash, probably from Hobby Lobby, the sentiment is from K-Andrew Design.

I also used my Bow Easy to make my bow.  It sure helps when you are "bow challenged!"

I started the card because of  a desing challenge at http://stampingscrappingtutorials.ning.com/ and it turned into the perfect opportunity to mail this to someone I wanted to let know they are thought about and loved.

Sorry about he background.  I really didn't think of it blending in wih the card.  Next card I will make sure I have a diffferent background or that the card is not the same color as the background.

Hope you have a wonderful evening and thank you for stopping by.

One step futher

Good Morning.  I want to share what I did with my challenge card from GHWI.

I am one of those peopel that I am usually ready for Christmas after Christmas and it was very true this year.

I wanted to give something to my sons teachers and staff but just didn't have a lot of time to make individual items for everyone.  This is what I did:

I bought a can of hot chocolate and decorated it.  All the paper I used is from my scrap drawer.

I covered it with paper first, then added two strips of paper ribbon.  I used my Bow Easy to make my bow that I had tied around the candy canes.  I put gold ribbon around the rim of the lid, more scarp paper and then some stickers from my stash.

I used my trusty glue gun to glue the candy canes onto the can.

I took it to them the week after Christmas - now all we have to do is wait for some cold weather!

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!

Sketch Challenge at Get Hippity with {ippity}

Hi everyone!!

A new year and a new challenge at GHWI.
I'm going to share my inspiration for this challenge.  We'd love to see your projects using this sketch too!

Anything you can imagaine to create, but please follow the rules.  The prize is an {ippity} set of your choice from the {ippity} Sales Blog.
Plus if you use an {ippit} or Unity Stamp, your name is in the drawing twice! How great is that?

Here is my card I made for the challenge:

Here is the sketch:
January 2012 Sketch

The stamp set I used from Ippity stamp is called Giggles x3 and you can find it here.

All the paper I used is from my scrap paper drawer.  I used Perfect Pearls Mist and Glimmer Mist to add the sparkle to the red and white paper.

The center paper I cut with my Cricut Expression.

And then of course that cute stamp set Giggles x3.

I really had fun with this sketch and I know  you  will too.

Thank you so much for looking!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
