A shopping birthday present

Shopping

I made a birthday present for my sister-in-law who loves to shop.  I wrote a poem and then put it on a 12 x 12" cardstock.

Here are a couple of pictures.  They are not very good because I still haven't found my camera and had to use my cell phone.

The 12 x 12 cardstock and the cardstock that has "tours" on it came from the same place but I don't have the cover so I can't say who made it.  The black and white is velvet - I just love velvet!

The poem is a little more detail.  I used a thin font from Lettering Delights called "Sparkle."  I imported it into my Make-The-Cut software.  You can only use it in the MTC software because it is an opf format.  I really have no clue as to what that means.

Once I put it on the virtual cutting mat as I liked it I then exported it as an svg file.  Once it was an svg file I imported it into my Pazzle's Inspiration Pro Software.

I ended up using an inexpensive pen to write the poem.  I tried several pens and they would dry out before it was finished.  I used a white cardstock purchased at Walmart to print the poem.

The cut out of the shopper I found in the Library of the Pazzle's Craftroom.

The flowers and gems are from my stash.

Here is the poem I wrote for her:

Shopping is my passion
A passion for fashion

The clothes, the jewelry,
The shoes, the stores.
Oh what a chore.

They call my name...
Apple, Brighton, The Body Shop,
Barnes and Noble, Victoria's Secret,
Macy's and many more
Are in store.

I'll try to set my limit
But that I can edit.

I'll shop in New York
Baltimore, actually anywhere
The jobs he took
Always gave me the look.

Oh and the jobs he takes
My shopping will they make.

Yes, shopping is my passion
A passion for fashion.

Her husband works away from home and she and the kids will fly out to visit him.  Most of his jobs are in the east hence Baltimore and New York.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to take a look at this birthday present!

And if you have time I would love to hear from you.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Easter Baskets

I made a couple of Easter baskets this afternoon.  I wanted to take something to my son's school and thought this would be good.

The pictures are not very good because I took them in a hurry.  Me procrastinate?  Of course I was making these about 1/2 hour before I had to leave to pick him up.

Here are the pics:

I used The Blossoms and Butterflies cardstock from DCWV.  I didn't have time to do any embellishments today but I am going to try and make some more and those I will have some embellishments on them.

I used my Pazzles Inspiration to cut.  The file is one that Klo made and I tweaked it to work for me.  Her cutting file was a Shamrock purse/bag.  I changed it by "breaking apart" her design and replacing the dotted lines with solid lines.   I probably am not explaining this very well and I apologize.

When it was time to send it to the Inspiration I used the embossing tool to "draw" the solid lines.  This guided me when it was time to fold.

After the embossing I replaced that tool with the blade holder.  I never removed the mat from the machine so I knew it was going to cut just right when I sent it back to my Inspiration.

I am still learning how to set the blade length and the pressure on this machine.  I am hoping that one day soon I will get it right!  If the blade is too long you cut into your mat.  If the blade is too short then it doesn't cut your design and you have to send it back through a second time for cutting.

Unfortunately I ended up doing both things.  Once I cut my mat and the other wasn't a good cut.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to take a look.

I hope you day is going great and that you have a fantastic evening.

It has been a long time since I have posted but I am trying to remedy that.

Here is an Easter Layout I am going to use for my grandkids this weekend.

I know I need to post a different picture.  This one I took with my phone.  As soon as I find my camera I will take another picture with it.

But for now we are stuck with this picture.  I used my Cricut Expressions to cut the house, bunnies and the grass.  If I could remember which cartridge I used I would be happy to tell you.  My memory however is not that good.  Most of the paper I used I do remember!  It is all from DCWV.

I did make this a few years ago and I just kept forgetting that I had it.  This Easter with the grandkids hunting Easter eggs and enjoying each other's company I think will be a fitting use for this layout!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my layout.

Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Spring!
